Carbohydrate-Binding Module Family 94

Activities in FamilyN-Acetylglucosamine binding
Mechanism
NoteCreated after Oka et al. 2022 [PMID=36106687] who demonstrated the N-Acetylglucosamine binding properties of the CBM94 module in two proteins of Homo sapiens and Bombyx mori. The CBM94 is the C-terminal domain of GnT-IV which is an N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase (GT54) involved in N-glycosylation. Modules of approx. 150 residues found at the C-terminus of the GT54 in eukaryotes. Involved in N-glycosylation by the binding of N-Acetylglucosamine.
