Note | Family created after Zhou et al. (2010) [PMID: 20164186] who demonstrated the glycosyltransferase activity in the Streptococcus parasanguinis protein Gtf3. The enzyme is predicted to have a retaining mechanism [PMID=21653318] based on structural similarity to GT4, GT5 and GT20 structures; however, direct proof of the stereochemistry of the glycosidic bond formed is missing. |
