Introduction
 
 Polysaccharide Lyases (EC 4.2.2.-) are a group of enzymes which cleave polysaccharide chains via a beta-elimination mechanism resulting in the formation of a double bond at the newly formed non-reducing end. This server presents a classification of these enzymes based on amino acid sequence similarities intended to reflect the structural features of this group of enzymes.

This document provides an updated list of the Polysaccharide Lyase families.
