Known ActivitiesBinding to chitin has been shown in several cases and binding to chitosan described in a single case. Oxidation of chitin has been demonstrated.
NoteAlthough they were initially described as chitin-binding proteins, Vaaje-Kolstad and collaborators have recently shown that these proteins are in fact oxidative enzymes boosting the enzymatic breakdown of chitin [PMID - 20929773]
